Recipes Enhanced with NuNaturals products
NuNaturals is creating a great resource of Stevia recipes as well as other recipes using natural low or no calorie sweeteners. Our Stevia recipes use many of the different forms of Stevia in the recipes. Some combine our Stevia Baking Blends, MoreFiber and NuStevia Sweetener with other natural sweeteners like Erythritol and Xylitol. Others use the pure Stevia extract while others use the Stevia-Maltodextrin (White Stevia™ Powder) or Stevia-Erythritol (NoCarbs Blend™) combos.
Each of these products will create unique dishes. For some recipes it is more appropriate to use Pure Stevia Extract or NuNaturals Pure Liquid extracts (for example drinks). Other recipes will work better with MoreFiber™ or NuStevia Sweetener™ (for example cookies, cakes, and breads - most baked goods). White Stevia Powder and NoCarbs blends work really well in puddings, pies, cheesecakes and other recipes that may not require the volume that you would lose when you reduce sugar in a recipe. For example, 4 tablespoons of White Stevia powder tastes as sweet as 1 cup of sugar. With this product you lose 3/4 of a cup in volume. If you don't compensate for this loss of volume in recipes, your finished baked good will come out flat. In a cake, yuk. In a pie, no big deal as long you use enough of a thickening agent like corn starch or agar agar to thicken. The recipes on our site will help you to learn how to use our Stevia products better in your recipes and teach you how to adapt to create your own fabulous recipes. No special recipes are needed to use MoreFiber or NuStevia Sweetener Stevia Baking Blends for most recipes(see above). You can use your favorite recipe. Where the recipe calls for sugar, you simply use MoreFiber as a dietary supplement alternative instead. If the recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar, you can use 1 1/2 cups of MoreFiber.
By combining multiple ingredients with the Stevia Baking Blends, you can create new tastes and textures that will delight you. For example, our Mocha Sour Cream Bundt Cake uses either one of the Stevia Baking Blends with Sweet Health Erythritol and Sweet-X Xylitol to create the desired effect throughout the cake. Combining Erythritol with Xylitol in the recipe makes a softer vein of sweet cinnamon goeyness that runs through the cake. By combining multiple ingredients, you will find the flavors complement each other and one will not dominate creating a more balanced tasting finished product.
If sugar is not a problem for you (as it may be with diabetics and others with blood sugar managment problems) but you merely want to reduce the carbohydrate and calorie levels of your recipe, you can use part sugar and part MoreFiber. For example if a recipe calls for 1 cup of sugar, you could use 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup MoreFiber. You could also cut back even more on sugar by using 1/4 cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of MoreFiber.
The recipes below are merely to demonstrate how MoreFiber can be used in conventional recipes.
One thing to consider is that because MoreFiber contains mostly fiber, you may want to increase your liquids by 1-3 tablespoons if the batter seems too dry. The more you use MoreFiber, the more you will get a feel for how it works. The conventional recipes that we tested MoreFiber in came out great without any variation so you should have no problem with most recipes.
